Experience: Prior to opening his private law practice, Jim served as general patent counsel and later as vice president, law of Parker-Hannifin Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio. Parker-Hannifin is the world’s leading supplier of motion control and fluid handling components and systems, including fly by wire flight controls and fuel systems for aircraft, hydraulics for construction and agriculture equipment, and pneumatics for factory automation. While at Parker-Hannifin, Jim established and executed cost effective legal strategies that removed legal barriers and supported the company’s growth from $600 million to over $10 billion per year. Before joining Parker-Hannifin, Jim was a partner at a respected Cleveland, Ohio law firm, where he specialized in all aspects of intellectual property law and litigation. Jim received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Cleveland State University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio Northern University.
Professional Leadership: Jim has served his profession and community as Chairman and President of the National Inventors Hall of Fame Foundation, President of the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association, Chairman of numerous American Bar Association and Greater Cleveland Bar Association committees, and board member of various not for profit organizations.
